Karla Macías Torres holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from El Colegio de México and a specialisation in Environmental and Ecological Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She has over four years of professional experience in sustainable finance, encompassing both the public and private sectors. She currently serves as a Senior Associate at the Carbon Trust Mexico.
Her expertise includes the design and implementation of sustainable strategies within financial institutions, aligned with international best practices. She has a particular focus on sustainability disclosures, climate risk assessments for credit and investment portfolios, and carbon emissions accounting. In the public sector, she provided advisory support to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit on climate finance policies and initiatives.
Her cross-sectoral experience has enabled her to develop a strategic and holistic approach to addressing climate and financial challenges, with a strong emphasis on results-oriented planning and regulatory compliance.
