Jonathan is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the field of heat networks. He works closely with local authorities to develop potential projects from early stage masterplanning, through feasibility, to approved outline business cases. He project managed the Cardiff Heat Network from the feasibility stage in 2016 through to the appointment of the design, build, operate and maintain (DBOM) contractor in June 2021.

Throughout his career Jonathan has managed many large projects for, and provided technical/policy support to, public and private sector clients. From 2006 to 2015 he project managed and led the energy engineering consultancy service for the Greater London Authority implementing the decentralised energy policies in the London Plan.

Jonathan has a Doctorate in sizing CHP, awarded by the School of Engineering at Cardiff University. He also holds a master’s degree in Energy, having earlier graduated in mechanical engineering. He is a Member of the Institute of Energy.
