The Summit co-hosted by the City of London Corporation and the Green Finance Institute, supported by the World Economic Forum, brings together more than 60 global policy and industry leaders who are shaping the future, supporting an international green recovery and the transition to net zero.
Five years on from Paris, the world has changed dramatically. Climate action is now the norm, not the exception. The financial risks of climate change are accepted and acted upon. Banks and investors look at the transition to a net zero and climate resilient future as the commercial opportunity of a generation. But for now, there is a persistent financing gap between net zero ambitions and reality.
The Green Horizon Summit is our moment to tackle the financing gap in the Paris Agreement and pave the way to a green recovery. Delivering this shift requires a clear roadmap for action, which will be set out at the Summit by Mark Carney, UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance.
The Summit will provide financiers with the tools needed to navigate the transition to net zero, and the impetus they need to strive for ambition ahead of Glasgow (COP26). It will provide policymakers from around the world with the confidence, conviction, and networks they need to finance a green recovery.
