Calling for entries from companies and consortia interested to undertake a study to investigate the measurement of mechanical limitations of submarine cables and the implications for design and installation.
The main objectives of this work are to understand current practices with regard to measuring submarine cable mechanical parameters, conduct modelling and testing to identify failure modes and limits for cables, and recommend standardised safety philosophies for installation and operation.
