Offshore Wind Accelerator: Monopile and transition piece connection types for future wind turbine generators

Call for entries from companies and consortia interested to undertake a study to investigate monopile and transition piece connection types for future wind turbine generators.

The main objective of this work is to determine the feasibility of extending the connection types that are currently used in offshore wind farm foundations to future proof structure designs and compare them with the relative advantages and disadvantages of alternative connection types. The secondary objective is to achieve the optimum balance between transition piece/monopile weight and length through the consideration of novel connections.
