The opportunity and the need for companies and investors to show leadership on climate change is more compelling than ever before. Over the past years, setting science-based targets (SBTs) has rapidly become the most effective way for companies to align their corporate goals with the Paris Agreement.

Webinar series on setting science-based targets in Southeast Asia

In our upcoming joint webinar series, the Carbon Trust, CDP, UN Global Compact Network Singapore and WWF Singapore / Asia Sustainable Finance Initiative (ASFI) will explore the business benefits of setting a science-based target in line with 1.5°C, specifically looking at the opportunities and challenges of implementing a science-based target within the region.

The series will begin with an introductory webinar in July 2020, followed by a number of hands-on, technical workshops in October 2020.

July 2020 - Invitation to the introductory webinar 

We would like to invite you to our introductory webinar on 2nd July at 16.00 to 17.00 SGT. This webinar will introduce the business case for setting science-based targets and introduce practical examples from case studies.

In this introductory webinar, experts from the Carbon Trust and WWF Singapore will explore:

  • The drivers behind science-based targets in Southeast Asia
  • The opportunities and challenges of implementing a science-based target
  • Best practice examples from leading case studies

October 2020 - Technical online workshops on sector methodologies

In a series of online workshops in October 2020, technical experts from WWF, CDP and the Carbon Trust will dive deeper into the application of sector methodologies for both corporates and financial institutions. These session will be based on demand, and therefore we encourage companies to indicate their industry and interest in specific sessions when signing up for the introductory webinar on 2nd July 2020.

Further details on dates and sectors will be confirmed during the summer.

Note it is not mandatory for attendees to join the introductory webinar to be able to attend the technical online workshops in October, however we do recommend it so that all attendees in October are on the same introductory knowledge level.
