Sebastián Del Cueto is Energy Transition Manager for Latin America at Carbon Trust, with more than eight years of experience in clean energy, climate change, and decarbonisation. Based in Mexico, he supports companies, financial institutions, international organisations, and public sector entities in developing technical and strategic solutions to accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy.

His expertise combines knowledge of energy systems, clean technologies, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management. He has contributed to projects involving energy efficiency, solar and wind power, energy storage, electric vehicles, smart grids, time of use tariffs, and demand flexibility, as well as climate policy studies, energy planning, and the assessment of mitigation measures across Latin America.

In addition to his role in Energy Transition, Sebastián has extensive experience in corporate sustainability. He has developed and reviewed organisational, value chain, and product carbon footprints; supported emissions reduction strategies and Science Based Targets; and participated in emissions verification and assurance processes under standards such as the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, and PAS 2060.

Sebastián holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems from The University of Edinburgh, a Diploma in the Use and Application of Renewable Energy from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and a degree in Sustainable Development Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
