Offshore Wind Accelerator: High Voltage Array Systems (Hi-VAS) Phase 1

Calling for entries from companies and consortia interested in undertaking a study to identify design options and cost implications for higher voltage array cables.  This tender forms one work package of the overall project, and the results from this work will feed into the remainder of the project.

The main objectives of this work are to:

  • Give insights on the possible design changes required for higher voltage array cables vs 66kV array cables.  The voltage level to be studied is still to be determined but will likely be 132kV and/or 150kV.
  • On the basis of the design considerations, identify cost differentials between 66kV and higher voltage array cables.  The cost differential is the key deliverable for this work package, as it will feed into the project’s overall CBA for higher array system voltages.
