Overview

From 2026 onwards, EU businesses face carbon tariffs on imports of aluminium, iron and steel, cement, electricity, fertiliser, and hydrogen. Importers are the ones to pay for these emissions-intensive imports and bear the reporting burden. But as a non-EU supplier, you will need to prepare for its impact.

From data requests to new product demands, our guide highlights how exporters can stay ahead as EU customers examine their supply chains more closely. It covers:

  • The CBAM basics: Who needs to report and what products fall under its scope.
  • Why suppliers and exporters should take the initiative.
  • A practical checklist for exporters, from preparation and data readiness to customer support and decarbonisation.
