Offshore Wind Accelerator: TP platform design optimisation for O&M

Calling for entries from companies and consortia interested in undertaking a study for the OWA Logistics and O&M Technical Working Group (TWG-L) to investigate transition piece (TP) platform design optimisation in context to O&M.

The main objectives of this work are to:

  • Understand and assess the current operations and maintenance strategies used across the industry and how these impact the design and access requirements for the TP platform.
  • Review the TP platform layout designs in context to O&M operations as well as the different access methods interaction.
  • Evaluate the different areas within the TP platform and how these could be standardised to better optimise O&M strategy efficiency.
  • Produce a general arrangement (GA) drawing of a proposed TP platform based upon the findings from the standardisation review
  • Create a road map detailing the next steps for the potential future implementation of standardised TP platform infrastructure.

The expected benefits of this work are that it will allow for a better understanding of the specific requirements and standardisation potential for TP platform design in context to O&M operations.
