Offshore Wind Accelerator: Floating Lidar Evidence Base Methodology project (FML) project

Call for entries from companies and consortia interested in undertaking a study for the OWA Yield and Performance Technical Working Group (TWG-Y) to update the OWA lidar deployment report from 2018 to reflect up-to-date information on suppliers, their deployment experiences and regions they operate in, as well as clarifying the methodology and use cases for creating an evidence base report, as outlined by the newly published IEC 61400 50-4 technical specification.

The main objectives of this work are to:

  • Update the 2018 OWA floating lidar deployment report to reflect current supplier activities, deployment regions, and industry trends.
  • Engage with floating lidar suppliers, developers and other stakeholders to gather feedback on their experiences, what can be optimised, and gauge their interest in participating in a future project focused on developing an evidence-base report.
  • Clarify the use case and methodology for creating an evidence-base report as outlined by IEC 61400 50-4, including the data requirements, benefits, and practical challenges.

The deadline for clarification questions is 23 September 2025 at 16:00 BST.
