Calling for entries from companies and consortia interested in undertaking a study for the OWA Yield and Performance Technical Working Group (TWG-Y) that will investigate the considerations that must be taken in evaluating the impact of climate change at a local scale to determine the impact on current and future offshore wind farms.
The main objectives of this work are to:
- Create an understanding of how climate change impacts offshore wind resources
- Establish what the limitations of this study are
- Quantify potential impacts on wind conditions
- Understand potential risks to future development of offshore wind farms
The expected benefits of this work are that developers will be understand the potential impact of climate change on Offshore wind project. This will allow developers to be better able to predict the financial outlooks of their portfolios and improve funding opportunities.
