Offshore Wind Accelerator: Post-installation testing for arrays

Calling for entries from companies and consortia interested to undertake a study to investigate alternative site acceptance testing methods for 66kV inter-array cable systems and potential future designs.

The main objectives of this work are to:

  • conduct market reviews of testing methodology and standards with regard to inter-array cables, terminations, and earthing solutions;
  • identify innovative and alternative testing solutions that are appropriate for 66kV inter-array cable systems, and future, higher voltage designs;
  • determine the implications of testing regimes on cables, and identify risks in test regimes;
  • develop best practice guidance for future post-installation testing of arrays for developers to use on offshore wind projects.
