Investing in flexibility is an urgent need if we are to decarbonise the power sector by 2035 and reach Net Zero by 2050.

The UK government was the first major economy to set itself the ambitious goal of reaching Net Zero by 2050, but this target will only be achievable with significant  investment in flexible and cost-effective solutions.

Building on the Carbon Trust’s Flexibility in Great Britain project research, this Opportunities for Investors report launch event will highlight the  value flexible low carbon solutions can have in delivering a Net Zero energy sector in Great Britain and identify the financial barriers that must be addressed to make finance more widely available.

Experts will detail the key findings of the report, showcasing the viable opportunities where flexibility could help reduce the cost of meeting Net Zero by up to £16.7bn/yr in 2050 and highlighting the leadership required by finance sector professionals to communicate flexibility-related opportunities to the wider finance industry and to work with the energy sector and government to ensure the value of flexibility is recognised at a project level.

Register now to hear from thought leaders and key industry players who will outline next steps energy and finance sector representatives can take to capture this opportunity in the UK.
