Helping financial institutions navigate the risks and opportunities of climate change and the transition to a low carbon economy
Green finance in Mexico City: we report on the ongoing impact of CDMX’s green and sustainability bonds
We are independent experts who understand the environmental impacts, technologies and markets that underpin green asset classes.
We leverage this bottom-up understanding to create bespoke solutions and help clients deliver genuinely green outcomes.
We provide a comprehensive advisory and assurance service for green bonds and loans. Where clients are at the early stages of considering these instruments, we provide feasibility assessments of the proposed issuance, we help identify eligible assets (Green Tagging), as well as building Green Bond and Loan frameworks.
For assuring green bonds and loans, we provide Second Party Opinions and certifications to recognised standards. We are approved verifiers to the Climate Bonds Initiative Standard, and we are members of the ICMA Green Bond Principles, contributing in both cases as technical advisors.
Finally, as impartial experts, we advise on methodologies and reporting on the environmental impacts of the use of proceeds, giving investors clarity and reassurance on the impact of their investment.
Developing sustainability targets helps clarify your companies approach to sustainability and drives positive change in the business.
We can work with you on creating sustainability metrics and targets, be that for your different business divisions, portfolios, your own operations, or overarching targets. Targets are a key tool in communicating your sustainability approach with stakeholders.
The Carbon Trust has worked with several corporate clients on their climate-related financial disclosures (TCFD) and can help financial institutions with this new regime.
Our many years of engagement with low carbon technologies and markets coupled with our understanding of the wide range of transition risk methodologies make us an ideal partner for identifying climate risks and opportunities in your portfolios.
We offer bespoke C-suite workshops and staff training to build capacity in your organisations around green and sustainable bonds, climate-related risks and opportunities, and how to develop frameworks and impact assessments for new green products.
We can also offer more targeted training around specific low carbon industry sectors.
