Martin is the Carbon Trust’s Head of Assurance, providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the Carbon Trust’s assurance function on a global basis. An experienced lead assessor, with a strong background in delivering organisational-level assurance projects, Martin oversees the end‑to‑end delivery of high‑quality assurance services that support organisations on their pathways to Net Zero.

Across nearly two decades’ experience in sustainability, Martin has worked with a wide range of clients, including multiple FTSE 250 and other leading companies, across a variety of sectors including manufacturing and industry, food and drink, construction and infrastructure, energy supply and public sector.

Having joined the Carbon Trust in 2016, Martin brings a blend of technical depth, strategic insight, and operational excellence to help clients demonstrate real progress on climate action, and is an advocate for the many ways in which the increased confidence and transparency that assurance brings can benefit organisations on their sustainability journeys.

Prior to joining the Carbon Trust Martin lead the environmental business line for a global accredited certification body. He holds a BSc in Environmental Management, is a Chartered Environmentalist and full member of the Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals.
