The business of climate action: Turning transition plans into real results

Business of Climate Action

Bringing together senior executives, strategists, sustainability leaders, and decision-makers, the first events in the series offered a peer-led, solution-focused space to share challenges, insights, and solutions to translate transition plans into effective results.

Close to 80% of sustainability leaders see financial return as the most persuasive argument for progressing their transition plans, yet close to 60% had not quantified it. The first edition focused on bridging that critical gap, showing participants how to make a compelling business case for the transition — and move from plan to results.

The first edition took place in Mexico, London, and Stockholm with speakers from the below organisations:

  • Mexico City: Thursday 27 November 2025
    • Coca-Cola FEMSA
    • Walmart
    • Grupo Herdez
    • WWF
  • London: Tuesday 2 December 2025
    • Dawn Meats Group and Dunbia
    • Lenovo
    • De Beers Group
  • Stockholm: Thursday 4 December 2025
    • Teknikforetagen
    • Telenor Sweden
    • Bonava

Introducing the guides developed in partnership with the World Business Council on Sustainable Development (WBCSD), our experts explained how to build a business case that was impossible to ignore, how to rally a critical mass of support, and how to break through silos and embed change across business functions.

The next set of events will take place in Copenhagen and Dublin in March 2026.

What to expect:

  • Guest speakers from across sectors sharing real-world transition experiences and solutions.
  • Peer-led dialogue and open discussion to share insights and common challenges.
  • Guidance on what boards, CFOs, and investors expect in a credible transition plan.
  • Insights into how evolving regulation can reshape business expectations globally and locally.
  • Actionable strategies for breaking silos, securing buy-in, and strengthening transition efforts.
  • 1:1 sessions with the Transition Planning team exploring how the guide aligned with each organisation.
  • Ongoing follow-up events to continue the dialogue, learning, and momentum.

Invitations to the events are invite-only; however, if you think the events would be valuable to your organisation please contact events@carbontrust.com.
