William Hudson


Will is an experienced sustainability professional specialised in low carbon technology, policy and strategy. He has a diverse background with more than eight years’ experience across the energy and management consulting sectors. At the Carbon Trust, Will has worked as a Strategy Analyst and Manager on a range of international projects including a $750 million energy efficiency finance scheme for the Government of India, a $300 million rural electrification policy framework for the Government of Indonesia, and a £175 million infrastructure investment programme for energy, transport, water and waste sectors across South East Asia. He is currently delivering a market study of the off-grid renewable energy opportunities in fifteen countries in sub-Saharan Africa (African Development Bank), and a £10 million Industrial Energy Efficiency Accelerator programme for the manufacturing sector in the UK (BEIS).

Prior to joining the Carbon Trust, Will worked as a management consultant for PatelMiller, a London-based firm specialised in strategy and analytics in retail and consumer goods sectors. His earlier career experience is in the upstream oil and gas sector, working as a drilling engineer for Schlumberger. Will holds a master's in physics from Imperial College London, and a master's in engineering from the University of Cambridge.
