Daniel is responsible for much of the Carbon Trust's work with governments and international organisations across Latin America and the Caribbean, outside of Mexico and Brazil. In his role as Associate Director at the Carbon Trust he has worked closely with the governments of Colombia, Panama, and Chile designing large scale programmes for international climate funds. Daniel’s areas of expertise are climate financing, energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture and energy access.
Daniel has lived and worked in Bogota, New York, Santiago and London, and has 15 years' international experience working with public and private institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations, and the Colombian Deposit Insurance Fund for Financial Institutions. In the private sector Daniel worked at KPMG and as an entrepreneur. Additionally, he has experience working in Mexico, Cuba, Brazil and Tanzania.
Daniel holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, an MPA from Columbia University in New York specialising in energy and the environment, and an Executive MBA focusing on strategy from the Cass Business School, University of London.
