
Erika Salinas-Talavera
Manager, Energy Transition

Based in the Carbon Trust's Mexico City office, Erika has over 8 years of extensive experience in energy efficiency, energy management systems, renewable energy and sustainability, working with industry and local government in Mexico and internationally. She is certified in a range of energy standards. Prior to starting at the Carbon Trust, Erika worked for the Mexico’s National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE), supporting local governments by providing technical assistance on energy efficiency projects.
Erika holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) of Mexico. She also has two master's degrees: one in Engineering and Environmental Sciences with a speciality in Air Pollution from UAM, which involved time in Los Angeles at UCLA; and another in Energy Efficiency and Industrial Ecology from the University of Zaragoza in Spain. In addition to her role at the Carbon Trust, Erika is communications and outreach coordinator for the Women’s Network in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.
