Call for entries from companies and consortia interested to investigate and understand the use and accuracy of different types of modelling approaches, with a particular focus upon mesoscale wake modelling in context to wind farm energy yield estimates.
The main objectives of this work are to:
- Provide recommendations to the OWA partners on the use and accuracy of different types of modelling approaches, with a particular focus upon mesoscale wake modelling in context to wind farm energy yield estimates.
- Using the turbine power data available benchmark mesoscale wake models against industry-standard tools for multiple operational wind farms at different separations.
- Quantify the accuracy of mesoscale wake models for predicting long range wake effects in energy yield estimates for offshore wind projects within proximity of each other.
