When Hyne Town House, a South Devon residential care home,
wanted to lower its energy use, an energy efficiency loan
helped.
The business case
After a Carbon Trust representative advised the home on what
could be done to make it more energy efficient, a loan helped put
the ideas into action. With a £12,500 loan, the home was able to
install solar tubes to produce much of its hot water, as well as
switching to energy efficient light bulbs.
It expects to save £4,800 a year, reducing its CO2 output by
31.2 tonnes.
