The Carbon Trust's series of breakfasts on the Business of
Carbon continued on the morning of Tuesday 3 July, with a number of
businesses gathering at the Carbon Trust's offices in London to
discover how to unlock energy efficiency savings for their
business. Attendees came from sectors including hospitality and
leisure, engineering, manufacturing, and energy. The event was
hosted by Myles McCarthy and Geoff Smyth, respectively the Managing
Director and Head of Technology and Delivery at Carbon Trust
Implementation Services.
The breakfast was a masterclass on how to implement energy
efficient equipment, looking at technical insights, supplier
management, and financing. Most importantly
it explained how the equipment can deliver very real returns on
investment, which can have a huge impact on reducing costs for
business. For example lighting costs can be reduced by up to 70%
and often have a payback period of less than two years.
